去年的世界末日話題鬧得狒狒羊羊沸沸揚揚，
在啤酒釀製上最有創造力的美國佬自然不會放過這個商機。
同樣位於西雅圖的酒廠Elysian Brewing Company與出版社Fantagraphics Books，
在去年合作推出了「12 BEERS OF APOCALYPSE」的啤酒計畫，
依照馬雅曆法終止的2012/12/21，計畫在2012年每個月的21日推出一款限量的特釀啤酒，
Elysian團隊發揮特別的創意、挑戰12種具代表性的啤酒風格，
從比利時Tripel、德國的Bock、南瓜啤酒都有，
甚至是奇特的啤酒風格也有，如石楠花啤酒(Heather Ale)、辣椒啤酒，
實在是非常酷的一個計畫！
但光是末日啤酒還不夠，
此系列再搭上Charles Burns繪製的末日題材漫畫「Black Hole」中的插畫做為酒標，
超現實帶有驚聳感的畫風令人聯想到恐怖漫畫大師-伊藤潤二呢！
這個為期一年的瘋狂釀酒計畫，竟有其中最瘋狂的一款陰錯陽差的偷渡到台灣來！
究竟是怎樣的一款末日啤酒呢？
看這嚇人的毛毛蟲，應該有不少人會聯想到銀魂裡的麵包蟲德莫妮翁吧！

DECEMBER 20 :: DOOM GOLDEN TREACLE PALE
If the world were coming to an end, what beer would you brew? Utilizing artwork by Seattle native Charles Burns from his graphic novel classic, Black Hole, Seattle’s Elysian Brewing and Fratagraphics Books team up to answer the question with The 12 Beers of the Apocalypse. Beer #12: DOOM Golden Treacle Pale is brewed with oats and fermented with golden syrup and raisins. Doom is the End.
NOVEMBER 21 :: MORTIS SOUR PERSIMMON ALE
Mortis will enwrap you in autumn coils of tartness and decay, with ripe Fuyu persimmons bringing the slightest blush to a pale ale fermented entirely with brettanomyces bruxellensis. German and Northwest wheat, pale and acidulated barley malt and a touch of C-45 Crystal combine with Fuggles hops to wrap things up dry, tight and tart, refreshing and satisfying. Mortis has set in just in time for Thanksgiving.
OCTOBER 21 :: OMEN Belgian Raspberry Stout
Omen is a delicious combination of darkness, raspberries and the classic flavors and aromas of Belgian yeast.
SEPTEMBER 21 :: BLIGHT Pumpkin Ale
BLIGHT will sustain you wich an ale of pumpkin, dark brown sugar and a joit of fiery Vietnamese cinnamon.
AUGUST 21 :: MAELSTROM Blood Orange Ale
Down, down, down Maelstrom will go, pulling the hapless beer enthusiast in with a beguiling blend of blood orange, Northwest hops and sweet orange peel. Stray to close and you may not escape the currents of this tender trap. Blood orange provides tartness and the blush of a brazen sea, Citra and amarillo hops from the Yakima Valley offer bite and aroma, and orange peel suggests a little something else on the wind. Maelstrom is brewed with pale, Munich and Dextri-pils malts bittered with German Northern Brewer and finished and dry-hopped with Citra and Amarillo.

NIBIRU, named for the mysterious planet X supposedly on a collision course toward earth. Nibiru is a Belgian style tripel flavored with an infusion of yerba mate. Combining the yeasty esters of Belgian yeast and the compelling tea-like flavors of the South American herb mixture, with German Northern Brewer, Czech Saaz and American Amarillo hops round out the uniqueness of this first beer of the Apocalypse.
